Sometimes this is because distributors will overstate the benefits of the product, or they will exaggerate earnings potential to new recruits, and then people wind up being disappointed with or turned off to both the product and the business opportunity. Next let us talk about what I like to call the everyman myth. One of the appeals of MLM businesses is that anybody can start one, anybody can own one, and in theory anybody can succeed in one. But that success is not just going to materialize on its own. While it is true that anybody can participate, the people who succeed in multilevel marketing businesses have very valuable knowledge about marketing.
