One Search Engine Optimisation Tip

There are two types of SEO, onsite and offsite. Onsite involves optimizing your website to make it search engine friendly. By changing your local site and adding special SEO components you can attract better results, and sometimes great results from search engines like Google.

You can get very good results with just onsite optimisation on its own but the results tend to be unstable and not effective long-term. To get top results you will need to do a lot off offsite optimization as well.

Top onsite SEO tip: change the page title

Believe it or not the changing the page title is one of the most powerful onsite optimization techniques you can do. The page title is what appears at the top of a browser on the left hand side. Visitors to your web site will not ordinarily take much notice of your page title because it is not shown on your page. However, search engines take a lot of notice of the page title.

If you have never seen what a <title?</title? tag looks like within an HTML page then simple open up the page source and take a look at the top of the page. To view the page souce, the easiest way is to right click on the page and select view source.

You will find the page title within the <title?</title? tags usually within the first few lines of the HTML code. This is an instance of an HTML title tag : <title? This is my page title</title?.

Search engines are very focused on page titles because it is like the title of a book – it tells you what is inside. By paying close attention to the page title you can move your ranking up considerably. The other day we could not get a client to rank for a specific keyword – we had missed adding this into the title (we are ranking clients for many keywords) and then the following day after we got the page reindexed by Google they moved from the second page to the first.

The trick is not to dilute your page title with extra non-keywords. Do not add words like in and the, and other filler words. The closer you can get to the pure keywords the better.

For example, avoid doing this: <title?Earth Worms in the Middle East</title? when your keyword is earth worms. Instead simply use: <title?Earth Worms</title?.

If you have multiple keywords only use two or 3 maximum or again the focus is diluted. If you are using multiple keywords then do it like this: <title?Earth worms | Middle East</title? – never use filler words like ‘in’ and ‘the’.

3 Search Engine Optimisation Hints That Will Tip Your Ranking Balance

Sometimes it’s just the smallest of things that can make a Giant difference with SEO ranking results.

Here are three small things that will make a Big difference if you apply them all the time.

1. If you are going fishing make sure there are fish and not too many fishing people.

2. Title is everything.

3. Being bold makes you stand out.

If you are going fishing make sure there are fish and not too many fishing people.

If you were going fishing as a fishing pro, you would do 1 thing first before throwing your nets into the water, you would KNOW that there were fish there to be caught! A pro fisher ‘man’ doesn’t throw their nets into the water before scanning the water with radar to check to see if there are fish there. If you are smart at SEO you will do the same! You will also not go fishing where everyone else is ‘fishing’, this is common sense.

When it comes to a more conventional world like SEO sometimes we forget common sense. So let’s remember!

In the SEO world making sure there are fish is making sure that there is traffic for a word we are opting to rank for. Use tools like Google Traffic Estimator (just Google it) if you are short on funds, and if you have a little bit of money, go get yourself a WordTracker subscription (they also have a free tool as well which is good). These (and many other traffic tools) will tell you that there are ‘fish’ for the keywords that you want to rank for.

The next part of the tip is not to fish were everyone else is fishing! This makes logical sense but often forget that it’s best to fish were there is little or no competition! So look for keywords that not may people have content written for but a lot of people are looking for.

Title is everything.

In the SEO world the page title is the ’secret weapon’ of the master ranker! Here is 1 thing to remember, make sure that the page title is as close as possible to being 100% the keyword you want to rank for as possible. The page title is like the title of a book. If you wanted to learn about the sex life of a worm then a book title of ‘Sex life of a worm’ will grab your attention and you will know you have the book you want. On the other hand a title of ‘Worms and interesting facts’ will not grab you in the same way. Make your title tags (where ever you can) 100% the keyword/key phrase you want to rank for.

Being bold makes you stand out.

This is a very good onsite optimisation point if you want to optimize a page/blog entry for a unique keyword, make sure you embolden the keyword in the text 2 or 3 times. Do not try to over do it of course! More is not usually better in the SEO world.

It should use text and pictures in the right combination, while the colours should also be used carefully. All the ingredients like fonts, borders, graphics etc. should blend perfectly. The brochure must appear neat and catchy, without compromising on simplicity and order.

While developing a brochure, brochure printing aspects should be kept in mind. It is always recommended to take a test print to see what the end result will look like before sending the design for printing on a mass scale.

The design should be created keeping in mind the brochure printing budget. Screen Printing

Screen printing is a technique in which the ink is directly applied to the surface that is to be printed and this surface is called substrate. The image that is to be printed is transferred photographically to the screen in such a way that the areas not be printed is blocked and the fabric is used as a stencil. A roller moves across the screen stencil, pumping ink over the threads of the woven net in the open areas.

Silk screening or serigraph also involves screen printing. In this, the stencil method of the print making imposes a design on the screen of silk or any other fine mesh and the empty areas are covered with an impermeable substance while the ink is put on the printing surface through the mesh. The silk printing was the traditional method but now it has been replaced with the polyester for screen painting.

During the reign of Song dynasty in China, the screen printing appeared in the recognizable form. Japan and other Asian countries started using this printing method and advanced it further by using this in conjunction with paints and block printing. Asia introduced screen painting to the Western Europe in the late 1700s but screen painting was not used widely in the Europe due to unavailability of silk mesh here and it started gaining wider acceptance when silk mesh on trade with Asia became easily available and also, other mediums that could be used were developed.

The screen printing in the United Sates became popular when the artist Andy Warhol screen printed Marilyn Monroe in year ‘62 in the garish colors. In year ‘60, the American entrepreneur, inventor and artist Michael Vasiltone developed and patented a rotary multicolor garment screen printing machine. He used this rotary machine to manufacture and print information of bowling on different garments but soon he turned his attention on printing team logos and information on t-shirts. This soon led to led a boom in t-shirt screen printing business and many more manufacturers licensed from him in order to print on t-shirts. The rotary garment screen printing machine became the most popular device used in the screen printing industry.

The screen printing business flourished and became a profitable industry. It was adopted by the artists to express and they used it to duplicate their works and they have been using it before ’00s. Currently, it is popular both in the commercial printing and fine arts industry. It is commonly used print images on the T-shirts, CDs, DVDs, hats, glass, ceramics, polyethylene, paper, polypropylene, wood and metals.

The first industrial screen printing process was patented in’07 and many years later, John Pilsworth of San Francisco introduced the multi-color printing using the same screen. Windows 7 – Better Or Worse Than Vista?

This is really a loaded question. Windows Vista is probably the biggest failure in the history of Microsoft. From day one the operating system was plagued with numerous problems and angry users who suddenly missed their old XP or 2000 operating systems. It was almost impossible for Microsoft to release an operating system that was worse then Vista, or more hated, so if that were the case the reputation of Windows may have been irreparably harmed. That being said, Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is far superior to not only Vista, but all of the Windows operating systems that came before it.

Microsoft did have users test their new operating system before it was made available to the general public. Of the 550 users who test Windows 7 before its release, many had at least minimal familiarity with Windows products prior to this trial. Of these 550 users, 61% are using the system for home and personal use mostly, 25% said they were using it for both home and work equally and about 14% found themselves using it almost entirely for their business needs. The testers were also split between users who installed the Windows 7 operating system into a clean computer, and users who installed it directly over Windows Vista.

The results of this testing were very good for Microsoft and Windows 7. Only a very small fraction of the testers has trouble with the installation of Windows 7, which is to be expected when you are installing any new operating system onto a PC. The one area of the installation which caused the most issues for the testers was compatibility with drivers and other software, which again is to be expected when installing a new operating system. A handful of the testers did end up having their computer crash during the installation process, however the percentage of users who encountered this was very small. This testing helped Microsoft prove that the installation of Windows 7 is significantly better than the Windows Vista installation, and the very small number of issues that arose during testing should not be a concern for consumers.

In general user experience has been beneficial with only about 5% of people reporting that they were not satisfied with the overall performance of the operating system itself. As compared to the test run for Windows Vista before it was released, this had about half the users complaining about it before it got out of the gates.

It looks as if Microsoft has finally made a superior operating system with the release of Windows 7 and as long as they continue to update and manage the problems that arise, there should be no reason why people should not switch over with fabulous results. And Vista users especially will notice right away the superior performance of Windows 7 over their current Vista program. What a difference!
