Crafting What You Craft Best in Connecticut

by Ellaine Towers

Hobbies are a great way to relax oneself. Some enjoy being in the kitchen and coming up with various ways to improve on dishes and such. Some prefer knitting and sewing as a way to pass the time peacefully. And some, too, enjoy working with wood, creating all sorts of sculptures that can be featured in and around the house. But why not take it a step further and make it profitable by joining a crafts and trade fair or festival? Besides sharing your talents with others, you would be able to earn a bit from it, too.

But, how do you begin to spread homemade joy like this? You would need to find out how to go about this first by asking questions like what fairs and festivals are open for you to join or when would the next one be held so you could have enough time to prepare? To get questions like these and more answered, you would need a reliable source of information.

One excellent source of that information is people. Networking efficiently with many people who know their way through participating in events such as those would definitely be a must-do to get the information you need. But that requires legwork and much hassle on your part. What if you can’t afford to take pains to do that?

Thankfully, there are databases available for you to make use of. There are databases of crafts and trade fairs and festivals available for every state in the country. And for Connecticut, there is even a handy calendar for your use. Joining in crafting fairs and festivals is a wonderful way to share your passion. And it also doubles as a profitable little business. Surely everyone would appreciate good home-grown talent in various crafts, whether it reveals itself in the comfort of a handmade sweater or the beauty of crocheted handiwork. Who knows, maybe because of your work, you could be known at your local community.

To give you an easier time getting ready for any new fairs and festivals you would plan to share your works in, a service that keeps you updated on such events in Connecticut would be a big help to you. You could plan out your time so as you can have an idea of how much you could produce and you wouldn’t have to rush much if you plan well enough. The service would surely help you with that. Taking your hobby a step further by sharing it with others is all well and good, and it would be a little bonus to make it a bit of a business in the process.

Getting a Payday Cash Advance

by Bob Jones

Everything involving money takes time to learn, which means that if you do not take care of how you spend money, then you will find yourself in a continuous financial jam. This is not said to deter you from spending money, it is just to open your eyes to the reality that money is a serious issue, because people are neglecting to take responsibility for their actions regarding money.

The horrible thing about debt is that it is insidious. Once it starts, it always seems to escalate and then you can’t get out of it. However, you frequently discover that no matter how hard you try, you always end up having to spend even more money. A payday cash advance is the option that a lot of people use.

This is due to the fact that more people are finding out how easy it is to meet all the financial requirements needed for a cash advance loan, which is in fact just a short-term loan. Application is now also made easier by the fact that people can now apply for these cash advances via the Internet instead of having to queue up in a store and wait.

There are quite a few web sites offering cash advance loans, so you have a huge selection from which to choose one. You have to pick the cash advance website that best suits your requirements. Most cash advance websites have a policy on how much money you can borrow at maximum.

With a payday cash advance, you are able to pay back the money you have borrowed with your next pay check, which means that you make an agreement with the cash advance agency to borrow money now and then repay it when your next payday arrives.

Also, the interest that you pay back to the company is lower because the loan is so short term. However, if you need an extension on your loan, most companies will require you to pay a fee of $25 for the processing of that loan extension.

Whatever your case, make sure that you evaluate your entire position. Don’t make any quick decisions just because you need money right now. Instead, wait and see if there is a different way out. Don’t rule out help from friends and family, as this can mean the difference between being financially-dependent on cash advances or being able to pay back on friendlier terms.

Credit Repair The DIY Way

by Bob jones

Negative comments on your credit report can cost a lot of money. You do not have to despair though, since it is never too late to repair your credit worthiness. However, remember that credit repair does not happen overnight. It requires serious dedication and perseverance to start a clean slate once more.

How to Get Started: You should know who the three credit bureaus are and what they are saying about you. Since creditors do not have to report to Equifax, TransUnion and Experian all together, they generally just report to one or to whichever they are subscribed to. This means that the reports from the bureaux are slightly different from one another.

The first thing you ought to do is order your credit report. Remember to order it from each bureau because you would only waste your time and money if you only order a credit report from one bureau. The cost of the credit report might vary from state to state though it is estimated that the cost of your credit report is under $10.

However, you are entitled to a free copy of your credit report from the agency, if you have been denied employment or credit due to a bad credit report. You can request the company to provide you with the name of the credit bureau, telephone number and address.

Once you get your hands on your credit report, examine it carefully, since the credit bureaus create your credit report based on the information they receive from your creditors, which is never checked. It is your job to ensure your credit report is a good reflection of your financial status.

Be on the look out for errors of typing, incomplete information, and out-dated or / and inaccurate histories of your accounts. After reading the report to make sure it is correct, list all the points you want to dispute and the reasons why.

Since bad reports cost you money, remember to be thorough. You have two choices: either complete the dispute form which|that| is supplied with your credit report or write a letter. It is also recommended that you enclose a photocopy of your report with the errors clearly marked to the credit bureau who supplied you with the report. Additionally, do not forget to include supporting documents with your report.

Before posting the documents and report, do not forget to keep copies of all the forms and the date you sent it. Normally, the bureau will investigate the dispute over the thirty days after receiving your letter. Then, any item that has been proved to be false is removed.

Stability in Your Credit Life: Another way to repair your credit is to prove that you are working at adding positive information and stability to your credit life. Even if you have the credit status, there can still come a time when you are denied credit due to insufficient credit information.

There are several creditors that do not normally report credit history to the credit bureaus, so what you can do is try asking the credit grantors to report their information about your account and the history of your monthly payments to the credit-reporting agency or agencies.

You can also try creating a solid credit history by the use of secured credit cards. This type of credit cards is recommended for those with no credit status or who are in the process of repairing their credit.

Furthermore, it is advised that you open a savings account at your bank. Doing this, might convince your creditors that you are attempting to put money aside regularly and that you are reserving that money for the purposes of paying off your debts and repair credit.

Slugburgers

by Ian Kleine

There’s this one particular burger that just seemed to burst with juices and looked so terribly appetizing. Slugburgers eh? Well, they do seem to sound a bit suspicious but I doubt they’d have any slugs on them!

Slugburgers were so named as such not because the original content was made up of these tiny little shell-less slugs, but because they each cost a nickel, or in slang terms, a ’slug’.

To make an alright slug burger, one would need the use of ground beef and soybean grits or flour as the main extender (you’d need a lot of the extender for slugburgers). The slugburgers mixture is made in to cute little patties, and deep fried in canola oil. They are then served between two slices of a bun and topped with lots of mustard, dill pickles and onion slices.

In Corinth, Mississipi; slugburgers still are very popular and served daily. They even have a festival for it, the annual Slugburger Festival.

It is said that a man named John Weeks had started selling these hot little things around 1917, in the city of Corinth. The ground beef was sold to him by the McEwen brothers, with instructions and specifications to include potato flakes and flour into the mix. These burgers (the fixings included) were all sold for five cents each at that time. Over the years, all five brothers had started selling these burgers. The Weeks brothers did so. And thus did the burgers were named as Weeksburgers. The tradition lived on, them serving and cooking these burgers in their moving trolleys and mini-cafes. The soybean grit was later used to replace the potato flakes after it was found to be a better and more superior substitute to the latter.

In the town of Booneville, Mississipi, the tradition is being carried on by Dianne and Willie Weeks, son of Fate and Lois Weeks, apparently one of the five brothers who had started Weeksburgers.
